Introduction to the Integrated Medical Research Center Research Park Network System

The Integrated Medical Research Center Research Park Network System (below referred to as, “Research Park Network”) is a network provided for the use of research organizations that are members of the Research Park in order to contribute to academic research at the Research Park.

Using the Research Park Network

Administrative work related to the Research Park Network is performed by the Office of Research Development and Sponsored Projects at Shinanomachi Campus. To use the Research Park Network, you must fill in the specified request form then submit it to the Office of Research Development and Sponsored Projects at Shinanomachi Campus to receive its approval. And immediately report any change to the contents of an already approved request.

About services that are provided

  1. Network connection service (you may select as many of the following services as you wish.)
    1. Public network connection service

      You will be given 12 public IP addresses and connected to the Keio University Information Super Highway (below, “KISH”).

    2. Private network connection service

      You will be given about 250 private IP addresses, and this network will be connected to KISH through the NAT (Network Address Translation) mechanism provided by the Shinanomachi KIC.

    3. On-campus network extension service

      When an organization that performs academic research at the Keio University Shinanomachi Campus uses the Research Park, a network that the organization manages and operates is extended to a unit of the Research Park.

    4. Network control device connection service

      You will be given one public IP address and can be connected to one network control device (NAT, Firewall, VPN device etc.).

    5. External network extension service

      This allows a research organization using a network connection service offered by a commercial provider to use an information outlet that is provided.

  2. Housing service

    This allows a research organization using a network connection service offered by a commercial provider, to install a network connection device in the network node room. To install it, you must cooperate with the Shinanomachi KIC, which may reject the request to install it considering physical, electrical, or other restrictions in the node room.

  3. Trouble response service

    The Shinanomachi KIC responds to network or computer trouble. Service hours are the same as Shinanomachi KIC Help Desk hours.

  4. Using Keio University on-campus services

    When a research organization disseminates information needed for research, it can use services that the Keio Information Technology Center (KIC) separately provide. Please comply with rules regarding qualifications for use and procedures.
