Tighter Sender Guideline Restrictions in Gmail (February 2024)

In Gmail, it has been announced that there will be an enforcement of strengthened sender guidelines starting from February 2024.

Email sender guidelines

For those who operate their own email servers, it will be crucial to meet the following technical requirements in the future:

  • SPF (Sender Policy Framework)
  • DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail)
  • DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication Reporting and Conformance)
  • ARC (Authenticated Received Chain)

Failure to meet these requirements may have an impact on sending emails to gmail.com or domains using Gmail, and in some cases, emails may not reach their intended recipients.
We kindly request all system administrators to assess their current setups and take appropriate actions accordingly.
